This section explains DAV (Distributed Authoring and Versioning), the method used for uploading files and shared content to LiteracyTent's DAV-enabled web server. This applies both to web pages and sites hosted by LiteracyTent, and to documents shared using the LiteracyTent Document Sharing server.

It doubles as a generic description of the DAV protocol, which is in wide and increasing use all over the Internet, and a specific guide to using DAV on LiteracyTent. Much more general information on DAV can be found at http://webdav.org, the home site for the DAV protocol.
